4/4x is the same thing as 1 x or simply x. So you end up with

x+x-x-x or 2x-2x
which equals 0

It's hard to tell whether you mean

x + (4/4)x - x -(4/4)x

or

x + 4/(4x) - x -4/(4x)

so I'll get you started on both.

x + (4/4)x - x -(4/4)x = x + (1)x - x-(1)x
= x+ x - x - x
you can finish the rest.

x + 4/(4x) - x -4/(4x) = x + 1/x - x - 1/x
= x - x + 1/x - 1/x
you can finish

4/4x - 4/4x & x -x cancel each other so i got 0!
