everytime i close the laptop it goes to sleep how do i disable it i have windows vista by the way

Look in Control Panel (Found on the Start menu), Power Options and see if you can change it there. I'm not sure if you can on a laptop but you should be able to....just make sure it's plugged into the mains when you do so the battery doesn't die on you.

Didn't notice it was for vista sorry but should be a similar method of finding the options.

In the control panel, open Power Options and edit the plan settings. Click the Change Advanced Power Settings link. There you can choose what the computer does in response to various actions.

You can't. The very action of closing the lid shuts off the connection - as the little blue light in the middle of the bottom of the screen tells you!
