I just cannot stand that genre, the music, the moping,the self-pity.
Those kids should be grateful that they can afford to look the part as well as afford to waste good money on that rubbish.

I dont think it exists. maybe it did at one time. but its really just a product these days. it was never really a fashion thing and now... i really dont know. its defintely not my thing though.

I don't like the music, and I find the "oh life sucks, no-one gets me, I just wanna die" attitude that SOME have irritating, because they're extremely lucky compared to those living in Africa, or Iraq.
However, I have several emo friends and an emo boyfriend, so I don't mind the people.

I like to think I can appreciate all genres of music, and I do like some emo stuff that I feel should not be discarded in such a generalised statement... Some emo music, such as a few of MCR's songs, actually have a few humorous lyrics that aren't supposed to be taken seriously and basically just take the piss, so it does depend on what bands your listening to.

You shouldn't judge music by that.
And you shouldn't hold it against people who like that genre.
Plus, a lot of "Emos" feel happier after listening to "Emo" music, because it DOES make them realise that there are people in the world a lot worse off than them.
