whats your opinion on using the internet for this purpose?

I have not used it intentionally for this purpose, but it has happened numerous times. I just go into local yahoo chats and sometimes I click with people! I think it's a great idea and it's a great way to get to know someone as long as everything is done safely. Right now, most married couples meet at school (statistics show this) but I think pretty soon the internet will pass this amount!

I've done internet dating and I never had any bad things happen. I did meet up with a guy and we lived together for a few years but he left me for another woman. I guess that could happen in real life too.

No and I hate it when I get a load of IMs from guys trying to hook up with me...I use the internet to relax and chat with people...not hook up. I never would use it for that purpose, but I do know of some people who have met their husbands/wives on the internet. It's never been for me, but to each his own...

I didn't intentionally looking for a date, but now I'm engaged to someone I met online. We're getting married in 1 month and I started talking to him online 5 years ago, lived together for 3.

Not specifically to find a date, but my wife and I did meet originally in a chatroom...That was 10 years ago and we've been married for almost 5!

no although i have had friends that did and you need to be care full and meet in a well populated place to be sure there not a weirdo . my self no thank you i would rather not.

Yes I have. It's more effective if you just want sex than for meeting quality people.
