CHRISTMAS
Home for the holidays: It's Christmas--
Though the snow has come and gone,
And the childish glee of Christmas:
It has also come and gone.
Just a routine break in a routine life--
Why is no one laughing?
Christmas used to be full of life;
Now no one feels like laughing.
Now it's raining; the clouds are dark
And everyone is hurrying.
This is a time when everything seems dark
And no one knows why they're hurrying.

I think we've all experience years where the holidays have crept up too quickly and that "holiday feeling" hadn't arrived yet.
You wonder, did I break the routine somehow?
Did I bake enough cookies or remember to sing Christmas carols while wrapping presents?
But somehow it always manages to appear when family and friends arrive.
I didn't see the poem as dark, perhaps, bleak.
It has been a bleak week here except for a few hours of sun today.

Our tendencies to try to find something truly meaningful in meaningless things while ignoring meaningful things hidden in the mundane is what leaves us feeling empty. Christmas is so blown up beyond its historical value, that it fits the first definition. For me, their is more joy in a double rainbow, a baby's immediate glow when she sees a smile sent her way from 20 feet (aprox 6 meters?), a pouring rain driven by a howling wind followed by the smell of summer and the icicles glistening rainbows on winter's bare branches on a frigid day daring the sun to give it its best shot. I tend to think that if those who viewed Christmas as something special, and indeed it is for me as a Christian, then if he viewed these other things as equally special, his joy would not be as transient as it is, and the reason for the season would be expressed all year round.

I really like the concept because, I also felt this way sometimes on certain Christmas days. However. I really think you should either replace those words (ex: Gone, laughing, and hurrying) or stop using those twice. Because, no offense, but it sounds a bit redundant.
But other than that, it's good.

This isn't very dark.. But yes, it reminds me of last Christmas night when I sat alone, because my then-boyfriend told me he didn't want to spend the festive season with me.
Sounds depressing doesn't it?

its almost like parts of my life.. everyone seems outta place, not sure what the hell they are doing, not sure they wanna know. lost in confusion.. desolation slowly following in a secert manner that begins to wear off. It seems like everyone should be happy, content.. etc. but they aren't. But is it really that way? or is it how we picture it?.. its depression my friend.. which i'm glad to say, i no longer suffer from.. email me you thoughts if you wanna.. i like talking to ppl.

I think you deliberately used "gone" "laughing" and "hurrying" twice in each stanza to make your point but it didn't work for me. Nevertheless, it's well constructed. It just didn't move me.
