I am moderatley depressed. I feel completley lazy all of the time, I feel too tired or worthless to get up and do something myself. I never go outside. I am always bored and hungry, even though I'm not acutally hungry at all (if that makes any sense) I feel so incredibly lazy, and I don't even have a problem with it. I'm so bored to tears that it's hard for me to even take another breath.
Is it common?

I'm 13.
I go to a therapist. She says it's depression.

I don't like her.

There's nowhere to go, where I live. My parents have to drive me to a park if I want to go outside, and the reason I would want to go outside would be about 90% free will. It's no fun if you have no privacy. I hate where I live. I want to take a walk, but mom and dad say no.

Yes it is really common and in fact i am that way too. I have had problems with depression for almost seven years. And i have a three year old daughter and a fiancee and it hurts me to even move. But, i do have to tell you this, if you stay in your house and dont go outside and keep just sitting around even though i really do know how much it hurts to even breathe, your going to kill yourself. I guarentee you if you will go outside and alteast walk around your house or sit on your porch or something you will feel so much better. i promise. And you also need to go see a doctor or find a support group. I am available anytime if you need me. kristy

I too have been plagued with depression and before finding the right combination of medications, i can say that yes it is very normal for what all you are feeling. When depression sets in the brain is lacking certain chemicals which cause you to feel the way you are feeling. Eating alot and sleeping alot and lacking the will to get up and do very much is completely normal. If i could make a suggestion, find a dr. who will listen to you and before going there are several sites that offer bi-polar or depression tests. It make take one med or a combination of meds but i can say for sure that once i found the right combination it made all the difference in the world.
Go to www.healthcentral.com or ivillage health central and take one of their tests and go from there. These are just diagnostic tools but gives you an idea of what type of depression you are battling. Hope this helps and take care!

I would go to a doctor and get a diagnosis. Sure, it could be depression, but it could also be diabetes or a thyroid problem, to name a few. People have a tendency to label their problems and then make them worse. You really need to examine possible causes of the problem. What is your age? Are you losing weight? Do you want to drink water more often? Has someone dies in your family or a good friend? Have you lost a job? These are just some of the questions I would have. Start with a physician and maybe he will recommend a psychiatrist or psychologist after he has run tests, or maybe not.

Yes, that is common for people with depression. I think you should force yourself to get out and do something - find a friend who will make you get outside even when you don't want to.

You should probably also see a therapist, that can help too. Sometimes medication can help, but I personally have had problems with medication and so I don't recommend it unless it's a last resort.

Depression can be very debilitating. I wish the best for you!

i'am so like u, from lazy to being bored up to eating food for no reason. i think u have to try to take some serious action , if u want to change , have confidence and try not being lazy is not a good thing , and try to mediate because that work , it help to love yourself , feel comfortable about yourself and u won't feel depress anymore. try doing something u like or something that u want to do , but u couldn't because of u being lazy. and think postive
