And the guy is a good 12 years younger than her, and really has no shot. Please tell me how you honestly would feel.

Thanks

We were buying a prepaid phone for my step son (age 17). The guy was obviously joking around. He used the old "this must be your sister" line on my step son. I knew he was joking, he knew he was joking. Hell, even my stepson knew he was joking!! The only one who didn't was my husband.......and he's the biggest flirt I know!

Ok, I might be able to better answer this by possibly explaining why the sales person is flirting.

Fact. Most "final" buying decisions are made by the female in most relationships. How many times have you said "what do you think honey?"?
As the question is worded, it seems that it was a male sales person flirting with a female buyer.
What he was doing is trying to butter her up to make the sale. He was flattering her in order to make the sale seem more personable. Like you were buying the product from a friend.
It's a tactic used by many sales people. And has been around for years.

I wouldn't get jealous over it. I would however be offended by his use of this tactic.

It depends on what kind of "flirting" it was. Sometimes (especially a sales person or waitress, etc) it's hard to determine if they are just being friendly to get a tip or a sale, or if they really are flirting. I'd have to know exactly what happened, see body language, etc, to know if it was really flirting. But if it DOES constitute as flirting, then I would get jealous. I am very jealous in general. I get mad at 13 yr old girls at church that are "really friendly" (some DO flirt) with my 33 yr old fiance.

I think it's actually funny, to be honest with you. But that also depends on how they go about it, and how your spouse reacts to it. It cam be flattering (and yes, funny) or it can come off just downright rude.

I remember this one time, my husband had to go to the doctor, and he wanted me to go back there with him (to hear what the doctor had to say). Anyways, the nurse who saw him before the doctor came in, was really going overboard with her flirting.. She was doing the typical flirty laugh, and smiling wayyy too much. She even had the nerve to ask me if I was his sister! lol I was like "umm NO.. I'm his wife". She quickly finished up what she was doing, and walked out the door. Needless to say, my husband and I busted out laughing as soon as she left. That was just insane! It was just too funny. We both had on wedding bands (matching ones!), so it's not like she couldn't tell he was married. Good thing we have a sense of humor about those things, cause if I was the type to get all "get away from my man!", it would have been really offensive.. cause she was really overdoing it.

People can be so funny sometimes..

I am normally a very jealous person, however, I don't see what the big deal is here. People say that stuff all the time. It is just a salesperson line. He would say it to a grandma just for a smile. Did you flirt back? What is the deal?

Apparently he doesn't think the product is good enough to sell itself.

Ok , i am a bit jealous, if it really annoyed me i would just say i want another sale's person or leave, and say darling lets look somewhere else.

Don't be irrational, make your wife feel special, kiss her on the cheek or something, and say i'm the only one who gets to flirt with my beautiful wife, go to lunch, be sweet and continue shopping somewhere else or with another sale's person

I dont get jealous I get annoyed but that is an insult. To not have respect is just down right rude. Some older women like younger men, but if the man is respectful enough to let her know that I am his woman or if he just gives me a kiss in front of her that will let her know to back off and will let me know that he respects me.

No, because the sales person is just trying to make a sale and would probably flirt with anyone, even if he didn't find them attractive.

no, the person is a salesman. they're typically low life type personalities that will stoop to any level to get a sale. it's just part of the sales game. flirting with your customer is a way to gain there confidence and getting them to lower there gaurd so as to be more perceptable to buy whatever crap they're selling at the moment whether the customer needs/wants/can afford it or not.

well that depends on how my spouse reacts
if he takes it as a joke, then i'd feel lucky, coz this attractive person chooses to be with me. but yes if i am left completely out of the conversation, and the two are absorbed in their conversation, i'd get jealous. really jealous.

I would definitely let him know to stop it either by controlling the conversation or just by telling him. It would be disrespectful in a way. Plus I know he is trying to use her so that I can buy something. That pisses me off.
