The old people of today are normally less into computers and usually not at all into games, current music etc. I am a disc jockey, I actually appreciate almost all forms of music except maybe death metal, although I do like other forms of hard rock death metal is eh... And I love my computer and playing MMORPG's and shooters and I wish I had a virtual reality headset etc. even though that technology is available but not popular and has to be ordered over the internet. So am I gonna become an old man that only wants to listen to "oldies" like system of a down, daddy yankee, linkin park, jet, etc. and hates playing mmorpgs and shooter games? Or will the "new" age of old people be in fact more hip than before? I can't honestly imagine what could come out that I would hate when I am an old man?

Don't worry, there'll be new music and technology in the future for you to complain about and claim you can't get the hang of.

A new crop of kids will come along with new technology and new music and you WILL be left behind (and probably willingly left behind) just like all the other people who have aged before you. It's not necessarily a bad thing. You get tired, after awhile, trying to keep up with it all and you'll settle in your comfort zone. Plus you start enjoying the memories that come with hearing 'old' music that you associate with being with certain people or doing certain things.

By the way, senior citizens are becoming computer geeks at a fast rate. They have the time, money and incentive to keep up with their kids and grand kids, track investments and insurance issues and to order goods on line---just to name a few things.

haha i dont know either
but i think if i ever stop using the lastest tech its gonna be because i dont understand how to use it and probably would be too old and slow to understand. and then i will stick to the tech i will know when im 50 or 60 and use it when im 75 and 80
im 17 right now and have no idea how much cooler stuff can get
but if all the 17 & 18 year olds get to be 80 one day, we're gonna be hella tight and drive around blastin lil wayne and that wipe me down remix, guaranteed, ya digg?

Really old people, like those over 30 or 40, have other hobbies. They like shuffleboard and bingo and gardening and other 'old people' activities.

Then by the time those people are ungodly old, like 50 or 60, they start picking out a nursing home or go shopping for a cane and dentures.

So don't worry, by the time you are old you will just be doing 'old people' stuff and it will seem natural.

That probably depends on if you lose interest in the media or not, I think old people always have this things were they think the classics were the best. Like my grandma used to always say, "I never liked these cartoons. The ones that used to show are funny." And like when I flip by Cartoon Network or something I'm thinking like, how could they watch something so STUPID? Rugrats before they grew up rocked.

So yeah you'll probably like what you like now way better than the newer things in the future.

If you live to be an old man, then you will die as an old man. The new age of old people will like what the young people like now, but they will still be considered outdated. As you age you will probably not like using whatever technology comes around and replaces the computer.

I am already there. The oldies that you refer to as a possible choice for your listening pleasure in your old age, are all unknown to me. I can't relate to modern songs in any way, they are nothing but discordant sound with screaming voices trying to overwhelm the din. As for computers, I spend ninety percent of my time in front of one, Since retiring twelve years ago I have written my autobiography, five full length novels, two articles about the universe and one about time. Make good decisions and enjoy life to its fullest and you enjoy your old age if you can maintain a good level of health. Good luck to you.

You need to rethink your question. Of course many old people do not use cell phones (that is, all the options), computers, etc. BECAUSE THEY DID NOT EXIST WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG!
You've heard that old saying: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". It is difficult to learn things when you are old, especially things so radically different from what we grew up with.
Go read Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle: they complained about the youth being so different from the elders!

Stop feeling sorry for yourself.
When I was 16 I thought my Father was the dullest silliest person on earth.

When I was 21, I was surprised at how much he had learnt in 5 years.
