The battle of the 3 piece bands, who do you like more?

Both are very talented, but I'm going with Placebo... I've been a fan of their music for a lot longer and I haven't heard a bad album from them yet. Muse is excellent as well though, their songs are very elaborate and I can really get into them.
Now if you were asking about live performances Muse would have to win that one. They put on a fantastic show, while Placebo is rather dull live.

I like Muse more though in all fairness I've only heard a few songs by Placebo.
Both bands are very talented and I can imagine others will struggle taking a side in this battle.

No, you can't make me choose between them! Well, I obviously choose Muse, there's no doubt about it.
But I like Placebo too, along with Muse and some other bands they represent the true Alternative Rock, which is very rare nowadays, unfortunately...

I love both bands dearly, but it's not difficult for me to choose. I fell in love with Muse before I really got into Placebo. Both bands have different sound as well. But Muse wins in my opinion.

Definitely Muse. Admittedly, I don't know Placebo's work as well as I do Muse's, but the stuff I have heard doesn't even compare to Muse. With four near-flawless albums, and no signs of weakening, there are few bands past or present I'd place before them.

Muse
I have been a fan of both for a long time now, and they do both sound great, but I feel like Placebo has lost a little something with their last album. Maybe it's just me. But this time I have to say Muse are a bit better.

I love them both but I love Muse even more
Placebo is a bit dark which i like but Muse is a bit more... err elegant (does that make sense) and I love the classical piano bits matt adds to his music
I love Matt's voice and the falsetto he bursts into while Brian's songs are kinda monotone
There's the fact that I've known Muse's music longer and better than Placebo
