Start by distributing the 2 and the 3 through their parentheses:
2x + 6 - 4x = 6 - 3x + 10

Now group like terms:
2x - 4x + 6 = 6 + 10 - 3x
-2x + 6 = 16 - 3x

Add 3x to both sides:
3x - 2x + 6 = 16
x + 6 = 16

Now subtract 6 from both sides:
x = 16 - 6
x = 10

x stands for 10

As a double-check, substitute x = 10 back into the original equation:

2(10 + 3) - 4(10) =? 3(2 - 10) + 10
2(13) - 40 =? 3(-8) + 10
26 - 40 =? -24 + 10
-14 =? -14 <-- check

So x is 10.

2(x + 3) - 4x = 3(2 - x) + 10
2x + 6 - 4x = 6 - 3x + 10
2x - 4x + 3x = 6 - 6 + 10
x = 10

x by itself just mean a letter, if x comes followed by = and other numbers ( x = 3 + 5 - 10*159) then x is a number that you not yet know, but at any moment in an equation x is multiplied by 1 (1x= 3 + 5 - 10 * 159) even thou the 1 isnt there, -x is -1x

They want you to rearrange the equation with x as the subject, meaning the conclusive answer should be in the form x = ?.
In this situation.
2(x + 3) - 4x = 3(2 - x) + 10
2x + 6 - 4x = 6 - 3x + 10
2x - 4x + 3x = 6 - 6 + 10
x = 10

2(x + 3) - 4x = 3(2 - x) + 10
multiply out the brackets
2x + 6 - 4x = 6 - 3x + 10
simplify
6 - 2x = 16 - 3x
add 3x to both sides
6 + x = 16
subtract 6 from both sides
x = 10

because x is 10, therefore -x is equal to -10

Hope this helps.

x = 10

2(x + 3) - 4x = 3(2 - x) + 10

2x + 6 - 4x = 6 - 3x + 10

-4x + 6 = 16 - 3x

subtract 6 from both sides
-4x = 10 - 3x

add 3x to both sides

1x = 10

and the number one isnt nesscesary so its just x = 10

X=10. It's not -x. It's 2 minus x

That is what you have to find out. x is the unknown.
If you solve it x=10

when you solve for x, you solve for the unknown-otherwise known as the number that would make this relation true.

x=10
