Danielle:

You may be feeling "back labor", here is a website:
http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/laborbasics/a/backlabor.htm

Your uterus begins to contract early to build up the stamina for the real delivery, and those contractions are felt as if they are from your skin and muscles, not your inner organs. Some women feel the same things with each pregnancy, other women experience different sensations with each pregnancy.

You minimal fluid leakage can be normal - the gush of amnionic fluid when your water breaks is only normal once per delivery, and at 32 weeks it would be too early.

Try looking at the website, google other websites for back labor and braxton-hicks contractions and see if they tell you ways to minimize the discomfort.

Also, let your OB or midwife know about the pressure as you may go faster with your second child. Unless you want a vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) they need to schedule you a little early. I'm sure they know that already.

Good luck with the cramping and your delivery!

I had the exact same thing happen back in June. The fluid very well might be that your membranes have ruptured slightly. I know you hear about it all the time with women's water breaking but I work in a maternity ward and most of the time it's not just a sudden thing. Sometimes it is a sudden gush and other times it is a slow yet annoying leak. As to the cramps, they are more than likely Braxton Hicks contractions. Check with your OB GYN about what they think you should do or if you should be seen. Good Luck!!!

If you only went 34 weeks with your first baby, then you are at a slightly higher risk for pre-term labor and this might explain the leaking fluid.

It could be urine, but it could also be amniotic fluid, and so it would be best for you to get checked out soon.

All the best to you and congratulations on your second baby!

Call your doctor. Fluid leakage is not normal, and needs to be evaluated to determine if it is urine, regular vaginal discharge, or if your membranes have ruptured. Since you are also having pressure and cramping, you need to get checked out, you might be having preterm labor. Always err on the side of caution.

i had alot of pressure with my 2nd but no fluid leaking. you should really call your doc/midwife. as far as i know a little fluid leak isnt bad but they will prob want to check you over to be safe. if the cramps get worse then phone your doc/midwife immediately as you dont really want to be going into labour at 32 weeks, although as you may have been told 2nd + babies tend to come earlier.
All the best!
