Can u tell me the answers to these questions and plz explain why?
1. The type of energy used by living organisms exists as the energy --------------
a. in the nuclear area of atoms
b. that bonds atoms together into molecules
c. of motion, which all organisms possess
d. stored as heat in certain molecules

I think the answer is b for #1........But why?? and if u can.. plz explain why it is not D....like u can give an example :)

2. In an ecosystem, matter and energy are --------
a.Different, because energy cycles and matter flows
b. Different, because matter is cycled but energy is not
c. Similar, because both matter and energy cycle within the system
d. Similar, because both matter and energy flow through the system only once.

Energy is in the bonds of molecules. It takes energy to put these parts together to make the molecules, so undoing the bonds (or breaking the bonds) releases energy to use.
It's not D because heat is not stored in molecules. Heat escapes into the surroundings.

2. B
Matter goes through the food chains and is returned to the environment to be used again when decomposers break down the dead matter or wastes. Energy flows through the food chains in just one direction, starting with the sunlight and photosynthesis and passed along through each trophic level.
