I just heard on WGCI that Kanye West's mother just passed. They are playing an interview, but I missed it. Can anyone tell me what happened or where I can read about it on the net. I think that it just happened because I can't find it anywhere on the internet yet. Thanks.

I don't think the d.j. would joke about Kanye's mother dying. I think it's true that she just died...WGCI was the first to get the story, though.

Kanye West's mother has died.
A spokesman for West says the rapper's mother died Saturday night in Los Angeles.
Donda West served as chief executive of West Brands LLC, the parent company of her son's business enterprises, according to a biography on the Web site of the Kanye West Foundation, which she chaired.
She was the former chairwoman of Chicago State University's English department and recently published the book "Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star."
A cause of death has not been released.

I heard a little bit of it on WGCI earlier....It was Rhymefest being interviewed...but yeah...She passed like last night...I didnt hear how though...
Am I wrong for wondering how is music going to sound now...I thought about it like an hour after hearing the news...

Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Apparently she passed earlier today, while Kanye was in London. That's so sad, they were really close. I guess you'll hear more about it, if Kanye makes a statement.

My heart just wants 2 believe this is a rumor....but so many sources r reporting it. I know how close him n his mom were n I know he is going crazy right now. I'm praying for him n his family.
