Yes I have been horseback riding. In fact when I was young, I learned in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I wasn't scared one bit, but as my sister and I were trying to come down from the mountains, the horse she wasn't on wouldn't move, so I had to help get her down as well as myself. I LOVE horses, but don't own one!

Yes, I have been riding for so long I don't know what I would do with out my horses. Nothing better for me than taking a horseback ride.

It's my favorite past time, also! When I was very young I learned to ride and I loved it from that point on. I ride whenever I get the opportunity, now. Which is very rare. I sold my last horse when I was about 20yr. old. I have a couple of friends who own horses so I ride when I visit them.
They are beautiful animals!

Yes! I used to ride a lot but then I took a break for a winter and haven't really had the money to keep it up since. But my best friend has two horses and we're in the process of breaking them. So I'll be back in the saddle again soon!

I've only been close to horses twice in my life. The first time when I was 6, and it stepped on my foot, so I ran away crying. The second time when I was 14. That time the horse didn't care for me being on it, and ran off through a bunch of trees, whacking me with branches until I got knocked off.
I don't dislike them though. They are majestic and beautiful creatures. I love watching them run and play with each other.

A young man in the Navy, on shore leave, decided to horseback riding. He climbed aboard the wily critter and off they went at a full gallop. Soon though, the inexperienced sailor started to lose his grip. He panicked and threw his arms around the horse's neck, but to no avail. He fell off, with his foot in the stirrup, being dragged, with his head banging on the ground. he screamed in terror, begging for someone to help him. Soon enough the Wal-Mart manager came out and unplugged the horse. The grateful sailor got up and limped away in embarrassment.

I've always wanted to ride one without that insecurity of falling down and being trampled by the horse I was riding on...

so I'll only ride a horse if you teach me :P

Yes, however if you ever get the chance to go "swimming with horses", DON'T!!! I went on a horse back riding tour in Jamaica that ends with the horses (with you riding bareback) swimming in water. The moment the horses hit the water they poop. Yes, POOP! So you are now swimming in a ses pool of horse poopy........ It was nasty! I don't recommend it. Stay on the land with the horses.

Yes. But I haven't ridden in years. There is an equestrian center across the pasture from our house. When I retire, I'm going to take lessons and get back into the saddle.

I've only had the opportunity to ride them once on a vacation to South Dakota, but my husband nearly grew up on a race track. He used to race them. Well he started off cleaning stalls. He's got lots of laminated pictures, awards & his hat & whip, oh & the chaps too! I'd never heard of the Preakness (?) until I met him.
