When does taking the law into your own hands justify anything? We have laws because as a society we need to have standards, and guideline to live by.
If we had no laws then there would be no "wrongs". Since we have laws to establish order then All must live by them.
The hurt cause by the action of someone who breaks a law is devastating for the victim or their survivors. No one would question that. However, how can you justify murder by anyone else? Do you not understand you are becoming the same type of person even if for different reasons? If we would allow that, then we would begin to diminish the value of other laws as well.
I admit there have been times that I thought I could easily kill someone that abused a child, but I also knew that personally I would be wrong in doing so. Thankfully in one instance the people went to jail and will be tagged as offenders for the rest of their lives.(I would prefer a death penalty for this). I'm not sure what happened to the other person, but I prayed for him and that he would be stopped. Someone has to maintain sanity. That is all I could do.
If we begin to ignore the value of the laws that we have then there will be no reason to have them. This should be a strong reason why we should all be informed and involved in contacting our representatives, circulating petitions, and speaking out when there is injustice.

This is I'm afraid murder too. We have laws in place to protect people from vigilante justice. If courts get it wrong, and they frequently do, then an individual, or group of individuals are very likely to.
All that happens is that family has a double tragedy to deal with. The sentence here in the UK would be Life. However, how long someone serves is up to the Parole Board and one would hope that they would be sympathetic.
But perhaps not too sympathetic, we don't want such a thing occurring in society.

Depends on the timing, and the circumstances of the vigilanty killing. If it occured right I don't think anything should happen to the vigilanty. It've probibly taken the cops 5 months of half-effort investigation to simply leave it a cold case.

It relies upon on the severity of the crime and whom the guy killed. If the felon murdered a toddler, police officer, firefighter, pregnant woman, or distinctive human beings, by making use of all potential supply them the death sentence. yet i for my section think of that life imprisonment is plenty worse; it delivers a lot of time to think of roughly your crime and the confinement (surprisingly optimal-protection, the place inmates are of their cells for 23 hours an afternoon) can stress them in basic terms approximately insane, that's a extra physically powerful punishment than death.

Our system is so ****** up, I don't even know anymore.
Are you surprised to learn a man who killed a young girl and injured her family will get is $300,000 surgery, while the family who are the victims, don't get any support from the government?
