A stressed syllable is the syllable that we put the most emphasis on. For instance, saying "syllable" there are 3, syll-a-ble, if you say it, what do you put the most emphasis on? I personally put it on the first, SYLL-a-ble. Does that help?

OH! an accent mark is like a ' above the letter, they're used in spanish words quite frequently, like "él" in spanish is "he" with an accent on the "e"

The easiest way to explain stressed syllables is to think of the way the word "record" sounds. One way means "to set down in writing or copy" and the other way, it means "an object, usually a disc, with information stored on it". The 1st is re'cord and the 2nd is record'. Hope that helps.

In any multisyllable word, there are usually syllables that are "stressed", that is, they are pronounced with more emphasis. You can just look in a dictionary. The stressed syllables are indicated there.
