I am writing a newspaper article about a Holocaust lecture happening on campus. I quoted the professor who is sponsoring it, and I need a final sentence to really top it off. Here is my last paragraph...HELP!

As a lecturer, Bartov comes highly recommended by the Holocaust and Genocide Center in St. Paul, where Professor of English Gregory Mason has colleagues. "He will bring forth a new side to the Holocaust that isn't really understood," said Mason, a Peace Studies program advisor. "For the most part, people are already knowledgeable about the subject, and many maintain an interest. It is one of those horrible yet fascinating times in our history." Mason is excited about the presentation coming to Gustavus and hopes the campus community will take advantage: "Education is a lifelong thing, and this is a chance for all of us to really learn something about our world." ????????????????????????Closing Sentence to article??????????????????

Please help!!

In times as tumoltuous as the ones we are living in, it is especially important to look back to history and learn all we can about how to make peace.

Just a quick thought. I think you might want to mention that there are other holocausts going on right now in our world and that we need to look back to learn from the mistakes of history to avoid them repeating them over and over again.

World War II was filled with terrible acts of barbarism that galvanized the good people of the world to help stop the terror. From the slaughter and rape of Nanking to the millions killed in the Holocaust, we have seen the Apocalyptic prophesies come true. We have learned that good really does triumph over evil. Let's hope that all of us keep this lesson in our hearts.

P.S. The Apocalypse is the ultimate fight over good over evil, with good winning.

Yes. Define holocaust. You mean the death of 20 million Russians or 30 million Chinese in WWII? How about the death of 18 million Germans? Five million Germans died AFTER the war ended. Is that a holocaust?

Perhaps: Something that implies that education may be the key to prevent further atrocities....You know, that whole "History repeats itself", theory....Well History may only repeat itself, when people choose not to learn from the past...

Really, It seems fine the way it is....But I commend you on trying hard to make your article better.

Hope it works out for you.

Granted, we can't dwell in the past, but if we forget our history, we are undoubtably doomed to repeat our mistakes and hinder our ability to move forward with a greater knowledge and experience.
