80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

This question is so easy to ask but really hard to answer.

To me, life is like a reward that's given to every living thing. It's like something given to you with so much freedom to go about with how you want to live it, and if you mess up, you rarely have another chance at it.

It's a journey that will determine which path will be chosen for you--hell or heaven. You choose which road you're going, but your destination won't be the same as everyone else.

And since I said life is like a reward, it's very precious. That's why you make most out of it and make it memorable so it'll stay with you after you've departed where you belong.

Hahahah. Well, that was deep.

weird question, considering this was asked by Homer Simpson. It's too bad the episode cut off when God answered it.

To me, the meaning of life is to go through each and every obstacle so you can understand that you should be happy being alive than sad that you're not.

If you keep asking what the meaning of life is, the more it'll cover what you think of what it is for yourself. It doesn't matter about what others think about 'what's the meaning of life', you should think of that for yourself.

That's something you may have to answer for yourself. Personally, I live for others. I spend my life helping others to find what I believe is the truth. I believe that God put us here, that his son died to save us, and that we should do our best to live for him. It's something that has brought me through the hard times, and I'd be lost without it.
