In my physics class we have to design shoes so that we can walk on eggs the material can only be 10 cm thick and it has to resemble a shoe w/o any prefabricated shoes you must make them yourself. and be able to walk on eggs w/o crushing them. Any ideas?

edited -You really only need to make one shoe to demonstrate the effectivevness of your design because when walkng you only put down one foot at a time. But in order to walk, and not just stand you will probably be required to wear two.
10cm is slightly less than 4 inches. Any foam rubber padding that thick will work. Make the shoes with as much area as you REASONABLY can. For instance, if you know the area occupied by the eggs, make one shoe slightly bigger than that area. Use a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to make the frame as stiff as you can to evenly distribute your weight to the pad on the bottom. Put foot straps on top.
When you step on the eggs, gently place your foot down flat before gradually applying your weight.

Make a frame in the bottom of the "shoe" so that there is enough room between the ground and your foot that the egg won't be touched. It will APPEAR to touch the egg, but it's really in the "cave," I guess is the best way to describe it. I'd make it to look like a platform slide, but bring the actual material your foot sits on higher and hollow out the bottom for the egg to hide. Make sure the frame can support your weight without losing height.

you can try walking on an ostrich egg, though it'll be difficult to find...
