Does anyone know colleges with a decent hippie population. I can't think of any other word for what I'm looking for. I'm trying to find a bunch of chill, non judgmental, open people. I lot of people have suggested Humboldt State to me. Does anyone know any other schools?

I'm looking to major in botany or horticulture btw.

All liberal arts schools don't have the kind of people I'm looking for. I'm currently in a liberal arts school and there is no one like that here.

Hampshire would fit you PERECTLY. It has a great horticulture department. You can also take classes at 4 other schools, 3 of which are in the list of the top 25 colleges in the country (Mount Holyoke, Smith, Amherst) and you can also take classes at UMass Amherst.

You can find groups like that at almost every college. Try looking at some that are more known for liberal arts and you might have a better chance of finding the "hippie population"

My advice is to go to a college where you will be challenged intellectually. Being in an environment where everyone is Chill and nonjudgemental doesn't exactly make you have to think.

But that is just me.

Look at schools like Oberlin or Evergreen to see if they fit your needs.

Someone suggested UC-Berkeley. While there are lots of ex-hippies in the town, the school itself is not particularly hippie-ish. The typical student at UC-Berkeley is a very competitive Asian-American with a 4.0 High School GPA who is looking to be very successful in the future.
