I think you may mean "Expand the brackets".

( y+ 4 ) ( y ² + 8y + 16 )
y³ + 8y² + 16y
___4y² + 32y + 64
y ³ + 12 y ² + 48 y + 64

Solve using foil (y+4)(y+4)
which should be y^2+8y+16
now take that and multiply it by (y+4) again
so this should be your equation

You can't "solve" that - that is an expression. All it means is "y plus 4, all to the third power". A solution is a value that makes an equation true, and since you don't have an equation up there, there is NO "solution".
However you can expand the expression using the binomial theorem.

since you cant add unlike terms, suck as 4y would only be 4 times y, the answer is y+64, if it were an actual equation suck as y+64=128, u solve for y whcih would be 2
