Not all of us do! Trust me! I am an ordained minister with a doctoral degree...I do not see in scripture where it is wrong at all! I think churches, leaders and christians need to stop focusing on the things that are non-scriptural and embrace the Love thy Neighbor aspect!

Soon you will be able to see the movie
For The Bible Tells Me So.
This documentary will show sort of a scorecard of who is against GLBT and who isn't, and how things stand at this
point in time. Here is the synopsis:
FILM SYNOPSIS
Can the love between two people ever be an abomination? Is the chasm separating gays and lesbians and Christianity too wide to cross? Is the Bible an excuse to hate?
Winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Seattle International Film Festival, Dan Karslake's provocative, entertaining documentary brilliantly reconciles homosexuality and Biblical scripture, and in the process reveals that Church-sanctioned anti-gay bias is based almost solely upon a significant (and often malicious) misinterpretation of the Bible. As the film notes, most Christians live their lives today without feeling obliged to kill anyone who works on the Sabbath or eats shrimp (as a literal reading of scripture dictates).
Through the experiences of five very normal, very Christian, very American families -- including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopalian Bishop Gene Robinson -- we discover how insightful people of faith handle the realization of having a gay child. Informed by such respected voices as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Harvard's Peter Gomes, Orthodox Rabbi Steve Greenberg and Reverend Jimmy Creech, FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO offers healing, clarity and understanding to anyone caught in the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity.

I am actively religious - and a lesbian. I focus on the 'God is love' side of my religion, the side that tells us to treat each other equally and to love our neighbours and our enemies just the same, the side that teaches that all are equal in the eyes of God. Surely that is more important than picky little Bible passages in the Old Testament that tell us not to be gay, and also not to eat pork or shellfish or wear clothes made of two types of fabric or prostitute our daughters or to have slaves.

I am a very spiritual person, I I believe very strongly in God. I am also homosexual. I do not believe in all the man made rules about what God considers right and wrong. I try to lead a good life, I do not steal, lie, murder people, etc. I try to be kind to my fellow man. I give to charities, heck I even volunteer at our towns homeless shelter from time to time. I believe these are the kinds of things God looks at, not my sexual orientation. I believe if I lead a good life, God isn't going to look at the petty little details like who I have sex with!!

I'm with Death on this one. I'm a lesbian who loves God and regularly attends church. Even when I didn't know I was gay, I didn't think the glbt community was treated fairly. My philosophy was, "Instead of telling people they're going to hell, tell them how to make it to heaven." People have a tendency to forget about the love of God and point fingers.

I'm actively religious, as MANY gays and lesbians are.
Obviously we're not against ourselves, that would be silly.
BTW: Spell check.

God wants everyone to be happy. That means be true to your creation. If you are truly gay, then be true to that. God does not exclude the different, nor does he enslave their minds to a social norm. People do that to other people.

what do we have against them?:
well...it depends on the christian denomination(catholic, methodist, exc.)...true christians should have nothing described in the next section...
Why?
if ppl do have somethin against "y'all" then they're truly not christians. the bible teaches us to "love the person, not the sin", or in other words not to 'hate' on "y'all" cuz ur gay but 'accept' u n tell u the lord doesn't think wat u r doin is correct
gay christians?
no i dont know any becuz they wont truly b a christin...

Religion condemns them because of their immoral lifestyle.
However we hate the sin but love the sinner.
