The Declaration of Independence was written after the fighting had already started. The Second Continental Congress had a motion before it to declare the colonies independent from Great Britain. They, like all good congresses, created a committee to draw up a Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson did all of the work on the Declaration with a few suggestions by the other members. The Declaration was the first written document that detailed the reasons why a revolution for independence was taking place. There had been other revolutions before the American Revolution, but there had never been a Declaration stating the reasons for the revolution. The Declaration was a notice to the world that the American colonies were creating a new and independent nation.

The war was already in its 2nd year by July 1776. In fact, the Battle of Long Island, on of the biggest battles of the war, was just about to start when the congress was debating the document. Keep in mind that the DOI is a redress of grievences. It carries no weight other than saying that these are the reasons why we are breaking away from England. Also keep in mind that the British didn't feel it was worth the paper it was written on since the war went on until 1783, and had the British won the war, it would have been the death warrent for all the signers for treason.

No, the war is thought to have started on April 15, 1775 at Lexington-Concord, Mass. It was there that "the shot heard 'round the world" was fired.

The Declaration was posted, of course, on July 4, 1776, more than a year after Lex-Con.

The Declaration(s actually many of the colonies had their own declarations) set out the reasons that the American colonials felt that they should not be a part of the English Empire anymore.

The war had been going on for over a year, and went on for about 7 years afterwards. What it did was tell Great Briton that from this point on, we were no longer going to make amends, come to agreement and remain part of The British Empire. It was our way of saying we are now an independent country

Although it could be interpreted that this would be a declaration of grievances against King George III and Parliament and a call for rebellion and freedom , the war had been in its 2nd year but what it did do was to send us on the track that we could not go back.

THE DECLARATION COULD HAVE BEEN CONSTRUED AS A FORMAL DECLARATION OF WAR, SINCE IT ADVISED THE KING AND PARLIAMENT THAT WE WERE NO LONGER UNDER THEIR RULE ALTHOUGH THE WAR HAD STARTED WITH THE BATTLES OF CONCORD AND BUNKER HILL.

The gay community has not extra "organic rights" than all and sundry else nor ought to they be appeased extra advantageous than all and sundry else. I dont flaunt my sexual determination,I dont parade on behalf of my sexual determination ,my political ideals arent because of the fact of my sexual determination.sounds like many gays have a double regular, first gays had to be known, and now you merely want to mixture in. A liitle demanding to have it the two techniques! seems such as you desire to mixture in with something of society or maybe experience such as you have been forced to esp in case you have a shy nature. What rather chaps me however are people who flount their sexuallity, then ask your self why human beings make comments approximately them, extra advantageous than probably if human beings dont comprehend-they wont say. I dont have self assurance in discrimination of any sort, shape,or style as long as what all and sundry is doing is criminal. If something is unlawful and individuals want it replaced, then the final element that impresses human beings to alter their minds are people who oppenly trounce on present day rules as a replace of taking it via the political technique. I desire you nicely, whether i could disagree with most of the gay schedule-which seems to do extra antigonize the country extremely than bringing all of society nearer to attractiveness of people as human beings in spite of race, creed, shade,or sexual orientation.
