Of course I care. I'm making sure they are getting educated. The rest is up to them.

I brought up my children to be independent and they are. If they get nothing from me they will do just fine. They don't ask for anything. When I leave this earth all the left overs will go to them whether they want them or not. And yes, I do care about their futures but I worked for that when they were young. They are now able to ensure their own futures. They are closer to 50 than 40 at this stage of the game. My work is done.

I think all right minded parents care about their children's future. In my own case, I supported my youngest daughter to get a university degree. My eldest daughter chose a different path and had a child at 19 years old - my first grandchild. I helped her look after the baby and eventually she did meet a nice man and get married. She is now a Phlebotomist at a local hospital.
I am lucky that my grown up kids are close by and I will always be there for them and they will always be there for me. They are everything to me and the 3 grandchildren that I now have.

Yes, I care about the future of all those I love. Each day we wake up is part of our future. My daughter is grown now, but growing up I made sure she knew how to become a productive member of society. She realizes you must not just take, but we have to give back to our world in this life. She has a 2 year degree and has now decided to go back to college for Environmental Science. I look up things she might be interested in to go with her school work and tell her of them. We discuss things she is learning and look at all sides of the problem. She is helping me learn also that if every person does even small things, it can make a big difference in this world.

I care very much about my childrens future, they are still young but I hope that in being a god parent and teaching them the main values in life like being polite/considerate/respectful, doing your best, setting goals, looking on the positive side and understanding that life is not always fair......
they will grow up being content most of the time and generally being good poeple.
I work full time (very hard having 3 young kids and no help with childcare) so if in the furute they want to go to college/university I will have the means to fund them, enabling them to have the opportunites money never allowed me, not that money is essential, but it sure helps, I support them in their education and i always have time for them, i always will have an ear to listen and advise to give, but I hope they have their own minds and be able to make wise choices throughout their lifes.

My children are all grown, two with children of their own. They are educated, well employed, own homes and seemingly happy, not to mention GOOD people. That is all I could have ever wished for them.
Yes, I still wish I could do more to secure their futures and that of their children...but alas I haven't hit the lottery yet, much less Publishers Clearninghouse! lol
Do I still worry about them, like when they get sick, or seem worried or beset with other problems? Yes! Once a mother, always a mother...it never ends :-)

As a senior, still raising kids I know it's harder Than in the past. Kids need to be watch more careful, We did not have to worry about the Internet, or kids shooting kids in school. Since 911 every thing in our system has changed. We make every school meeting we can, we have been involved in all aspects of our children learning. They are now teaching advanced math in the 6th grade. Our high school now requires geometry before graduation The old days of sending a kid to trade school are slowly disappearing. We strive to keep our kids on the honor roll .If you don't think its hard to keep everything in focus try doing it 60 years old

We all care about our children's future and in my case grandchildren future.
I read Goldwings essay and agree with most of what he has put. I don't know if he is right about it happening in 100 years, I hope it will be a bit longer than that.
But as a granny, I try to do my bit to prevent (or slow down) some of the things happening.

No. If I cared, then what kind of a Mother would that make me? It's safer for my kid if we are seen as separate entities. That's how much I care...& that's all I can tell you at this point in time. They know I'm available on a moments call & I'd do my best to get them the help they needed...even if I could not get the job done myself!

My children are already grown and
with children of their own that they
must provide for. My responsibility
for my children's future is over....it's
up to them now.
GOLDWING: I'm with you except for the
nuclear energy. We have a decommissioned Nuclear facility close by in Humboldt Bay. They still have
NOT FOUND the spent nuclear rods
that were SUPPOSED to be in a pond
next to the facility!!! Human error is
still too high with nuclear energy.
One caveat: France seems to be doing ok.???
