Well this actually means to the power of x.
So 2^x=10 2^2.5=10 so x=2.5

x=log2(10)

The 2 would be the base for the log.

This is the only way I could think to solve for x. =3

change it to a log problem.
log 2 10 = x
then use change of base formula to solve using your calc.
log 10 / log 2 = x
x = 3.3219

Taking log(base 10) of both sides
x (log2) = log10 = 1
x = 1 / (log2) = 1/0.301 = 3.322
x = 3.322

Take the natrual log of both sides
ln (2^x) = ln(10)
x ln(2) = ln(10)
x = ln(10)/ln(2)

take log of both sides to simplify
xlog2=log10
x=log10/log2
x=1/log2
x=3.322
