I think your timing may be off, but ....that would be one big Thanksgivng Turkey, ... can you imagine the oven!!!! And, given my experience with "birds," I don't want to think about what would fall on my head! Phil

I probably would be trying to eek out a living some where in the southwest U.S. or Mexico some place as the earth was still in an ice age. Even the southwest would have seasons like Iowa or Nebraska does now. I certainly would observe the habits of any large game with the intention of setting a trap. Better to catch once and eat for a month, than to catch small game twice a day. As far as domesticating something. America had small native horses then, might try them. They went extinct about 9,000 years ago.

IF I were stranded in time 20,000 years ago, then I most likely would have no need to domesticate a giagantic species of bird. I would be far too busy trying to survive in a world filled with predators, for I would be their prey! Gosh, it appears to me that things are still on the same level in this time frame too!

You might be able to domesticate it like a chicken, but I dont think they would have the intelligence of a dog or a horse. I doubt they would fly you anywhere.

I think I would be hiding behind a sentient rock and cowering in fear of the bird coming after me as his next meal.

Jack would have tried. He'd have been brave enough and patient enough to eventually find a way for us to fly rather always ride a four legged creature.

I think a bird that size would be eating me for a snack. I would run and hide in my cave.

After seeing the behavior of our "dear" dinosaurs, think I'd have to leave them at least partially wild for survival.
