I am from a small town in canada, and I am a very skilled hockey player. Last year I recorded around 35 goals and 27 assists in 30 games. I am wondering if I should get an agent even if I am only 13 years old. My dream is to go to Harvard, does anyone know how to get to the next level? Should I get an Agent?

62 points in 30 games as a 13 yr old in Canada won't even put you in the top 200 scorers in that age group across the country (in 2006-2007, the 200th best 13yr old averaged 2.41pts/game - you are well below that).

The earliest you can get to the next level is as a 15 yr old and that is the midget draft for junior. If you are in a travelling team, and making waves, the junior scouts and NCAA scouts WILL find you.

Once you enlist the service of an agent, you will no longer be eligible to play NCAA hockey.

As for Harvard, I know people who have received scholarships at Harvard (Harvard only has academic scholarships) after scoring 4 points in 200+ games in their high school career....their 96% average helped them get in.

Another note. The 2005-2006 Harvard Mens Hockey Team, the lowest senior high school average was 93%.

If you want to play at Harvard (or Princeton, or Brown, or Yale, or Cornell, or Dartmouth...)...study math!

No. just keep playing, and while 35 goals and 27 assists might put you at the top of your team you won't even scratch the surface overall. I played with a guy in high school that averaged three goals a game and finished the season with 106 goals and almost 200 points, and he wasn't drafted. You don't actually need an agent until you are at least 17 because you don't really have the option of signing a contract until then, so keep playing and don't get too cocky.

Another ten points for LITY. You young'uns better listen to him. He knows what he's talking about in practically everything hockey. Even the remote hockey stuff, like....Tom Glavine's hockey stats, or Luc Robaitille's baseball stats.

Are there a lot of pee wee and bantam players in your small town with agents? Why do you suppose that is?

your still young. if your that good, the scouts will find you. before anything happens you need to keep up your game, then maybe play junior A or get drafted into OHL, QMJHL etc. if a scholarship comes along take it for a free education, but if the nhl comes along make that first priority, because if that fails, the scholarship is still an option.
