You multiply .5 by 365, That will tell you how much it moved in one year. Then you multiply that answer by 100, which comes out to be 18,250 meters.

100 years... uh, including leap years and the leap century, that makes for (365*100) which covers the years, plus 25 for each year date divisible by 4 to cover the leap years, minus 1 if the date century is divisible by 400 since we skip leap year in a century evenly divisible by 400, which is why why in year 2000 we did NOT have Feb. 29 when it met the criteria most people know of the year being evenly divisible by 4. So, the number of real calendar days is 36525 if the year 2000 is not in the 100 year period (from 12:00AM 1 JAN 1900 to 12:00PM 31 DEC 1999), 36524 if the year 2000 IS included in the 100 year period. Then multiply by 5 Use your calculator. Of course, the ice breaks off into icebergs at the same rate as it moves or it melts, so like a river, it flows but it never gets any longer but global warming is making some shorter...

.5 x365days =182.5 in a year x100 years =18250 meters in 100 years +25 leap days for 1 leap day every 4 years= 25x.5=12.5m= 18262.5 meters

365 days/year x 100 = 36,500 days
36,500 x .5 = 18,250 meters

what about leap-year? 25 leap-years for 100 years.
