In other words, can we surivive Bush, get past him, and be OK again someday?

I hope it's not permanent. He has severely damaged our relationships with our Allies and inspired new found hatred for Americans around the world. The entire world mistrusts us now thanks to George Bush. The next President will spend their entire first term trying to repair that damage and correct the mistakes we have made in Iraq and the Middle East in general. It's a pity, because we need desperately to attend to some of our domestic problems, which will likely have to again take a back seat to dealing with fixing the mess he will leave behind him.

Wrong, Grass hopper! This next election will be the defining one.

Instead of reading all this crap put out by the political spin jobs, about the deficit, who knew what and when about Iraq. Try looking it up in the congressional record.

You want to know if Clinton. I said Clinton really balanced the buget and left a surplus. Go right to the source who knows
1) CBO: Congressional Budget Office
2) UnitedStates Treasury

It's a real eye opener. Starting from 1993-2001.
Don't forget the buget for 2001 was from the Clinton administration.

Deficits for Clinton years: Surplus impossible!
1994-281.26B
1995-281.23B
1996-250.83B
1997-188.34B
1998-113.05B
1999-130.08B
2000-17.91 B
2001-133.29B

How about the deals with N.Korea, and China. The failure in the peace talks with Isreal and the Palestinians. There typical of the Clinton administration, kick the can down the road, let the next President deal with it.

I'm damn glad Mr. Bush is in the Oval office when all this stuff came down. At least he stood up for something. That's more than can be said for Clinton. The dirt bags are on notice now that America isn't a paper tiger that you can attack and the only thing that'll happen is we'll talk you to death!

Look elsewhere for someone who has done more damage to the US. Mr. Bush is dealing with the after effects of the Clinton yrears. You cannot be seriously thinking of putting and other Clinton and "cigar Willie" back in the White house.

I would like to say there is hope.....but unfortunately there is no getting out of 9 trillion dollars in debt and counting....

The entire world is losing confidence in our dollar as we speak....and thinking about investing in Euros and other currencies.

How one man could bring a country so far down the road to chaos in such a short time is mind boggling...

The Clinton years are starting to look like "Leave it to Beaver" land

We would have been better off having a monkey as president...and Im saying that with a straight face

Has bush done permanent damage?

YES.

I am not going to make fun of his lack of intellect, the lacking depth of character, or his smirk. Those things are obvious. But I will begin by pointing out his lack of understanding on the complexities of how to fight a global war on terrorism.

He has divided this country and divided the world. Here we see a party that has walked lock step to support anything that Bush wants, no matter how destructive. They have run on a platform of morals, and here we see these evangelical charlatans go down in flames with countless scandals. hypocrites.

He is so out of touch with reality it is pathetic, and could care less about most Americans.

He has used the momentum of 9/11 for preemptive war against a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. This violates international law and sets a dangerous precedence. In fact, it is not different than the Russians invading Afghanistan, Hitler invading Poland, or China invading Tibet.

Notice that the man never said anything or did anything about terrorism BEFORE 9/11, despite the warnings. And where is Osama Bin Laden? And after 9/11 he burried EPA reports, sending people back to lower Manhattan to live and work, KNOWING it was unsafe to be there.

Now he has upset the power balance of the mid-east. Iran is now a greater threat, seeking nukes. And terrorist are eagerly joining Al-Queda because Bush has fueled radical fundamentalism. Further, he has again polorized the Russians! North Korea, too late.

He has caused the prices of oil to skyrocket. The economy is in shambles. The dollar is at an all time low. And we are trillions of dollars in debt to pay for a war that has been botched. This has kept us less safe at home from natural disasters, from another terrorist attack, a riot, or everyday crimes. We will be paying for this war for YEARS to come.

He has continuously lied to the American people. For example, he told us we were going to find WMDs. Where are they? Then he told us that we were going to free the Iraqi people from an evil dictator; and now that that has been done look at how many innocent Iraqis (and our troops) are still dying daily. He also said that he wanted to spread democracy. That is a load of BS if I have ever heard it. Why is he not doing anything to help the democratic movement in Pakistan now? And how many days has it been since "Mission Accomplished"?

Bush has repeatedly distorted facts, fabricated lies, and covered up evidence to lead us to war, protect his own interests, and to grab more power. He has used the politics of fear to dupe people into getting his way.

He has maintained the most secretive administration in history. And never before have we seen a president with such contempt for congress, our system of checks and balances! And the worst of it is that he TRIED to make anyone feel unpatriotic or Un-American for even questioning his policy, something as serious as war!

He has slapped our troops in the face by sending in private mercenaries (Blackwater) by paying them more money to do the same job. AND they act above the rule of law. Further, he and his friends are loading their pockets, companies like Blackwater, and Halliburton, through no-bid contracts. He does this while touting that he has created jobs, which are low-paying and dead end jobs.

He does not want to win in Iraq. He wants to OCCUPY Iraq for as long as he can, so that he can control the oil.

He has no domestic agenda to really help children, working people, or to protect the environment.

I could go on and on.

But to answer your question, can we recover. Yes we can. If YOU YOU and YOU get off or your rear ends talk about this and VOTE these people out. It will take years to fix it, but it can happen if we do not sit quietly and take this!

Now, will the people that do not have health care, the people dying from diseases that might have been cured through stem cell research, the people that are caughing up lungs from work at ground zero, and the people that have and will keep dying in this war... will they survive. NO. Their lives will be forever changed because of this one man.

YES

He has destroyed over 4 decades of ongoing scientific research with the unfunded mandate to put a man on the moon again.
He has done tremendous damage to the education of a whole generation with the unfunded 'no child left behind'
He has killed thousands of foreign nationals and created hatred towards the US worldwide.
He has added 4 trillion that is
4,000,000,000,000 dollars to the national debt in 6 years.
He has revoked agreements the nations signed in good faith
He has failed to lead the world, because of that many nations worldwide are now looking towards Europe and China for leadership
He has failed to address the rest of America preoccupied with the war on terror which BTW we are losing
He has devalued the dollar in half and that is only the beginning of what is to come in that regard

The list goes on and on and on he is yearning for yesteryear and taking us backwards while the world is moving forwards.

I hope he has not, as I do love your country.

But I see serious problems:
-A huge deficit.
-A unwinnable war.
-Loss of stature in the world - believe me, most Europeans despise Bush and his policies.
-The erosion of your freedoms via the perversion of your Constitution
-The erosion of your middle and working classes
-The tax cuts to the wealthy, making the gap between have and havenots even greater.

Actually, we'll be better for having had him.

I'm pretty sure it was an experiment to see if we could elect ANYBODY president and still get away with it.

Just imagine, if he had worked out, next we would have had to elect a potted plant...

Now we know where the boundary is.

And humans are always more comfortable when they know where the boundaries are...
