No! That would give them four losses with one of them to Appalachian State. That does not deserve a Jan. bowl game. Plus, people are tired of watching Michigan go to a major bowl and get beat by an inferior team.

the fact that michigan can do so poorly, and Ohio State continue to be overrated is just astonishing to me. It is just pure evidence that the big 10 has so much favoritism. Why in the hell does the big 10 still have 4 ranked teams??? there is no way all of them are that good, especially with those records.
You better believe that if USC, or LSU, or Florida, or Oregon had lost to a d1AA school, then got blown out in their second game, and then lost to an unranked team..they would never see the rankings again that year. But Michigan is still up there and with three losses even the badgers and the illini found a way back to the top 25, meanwhile the Vols and Bama and teams of that nature are being ousted.
the SEC, Big 12 and Pac 10 get no respect because of the system in place that handicaps the big 10

If they get beat by OSU that makes 4 losses, that's too many to be in a great bowl game (especially with one blowout and one to App State). If they beat OSU, they should finish the season ranked somewhere 17-21 or so, there's too many other teams playing well for them to be considered one of the top 15 - but the Rose Bowl is there's for the winning this week!
Sorry Illini fan, 2 conference losses means no Rose Bowl, but I think if they wind up tied for 2nd in the Big Ten they should go to a better bowl then UofM this year.

They will go to a bowl game. But they will not go to the rose bowl. Ohio state will go be going there. Now will Michigan be in a BSC bowl I don't think so since they lost three games to a unranked team.

If they lose they go to the Capitol One bowl on new years day whether they deserve it or not. Michigan gets the tiebreaker for second in the Big Ten over Illinois since they beat the Illini, on the road, earlier this season.
Of course if they win they go to the rose bowl.

This is only one of the MAJOR problems with the BCS. It certainly rewards teams for who they are instead of how good they are.
Until there is a system that actually rewards teams on their accomplishments, then I guess the answer is yes, Michigan deserves to go because they happen to be in the right division. They aren't that good, but a prom queen doesn't have to be pretty, just popular.
I wish there was a playoff system to weed out he posers and allow a real champion to exist

No, they don't. The Cap One Bowl and the Outback Bowl may be tied in to taking the team in standing order, so Michigan might luck out and get a bid and get blown out by Florida. But if they're not tied in, I believe both bowls would prefer a 9-3 Illinois or 9-3 Wisconsin to 8-4 Michigan, especially considering how well Wisconsin travels.

if they do beat ohio state then they automatcially make it to the rose bowl because they won the big ten, having a 7-1 conference record plus the tiebracker. but, teh question as to whether they deserve it, ya, they lost to oregon, who is #2 right now, and wisconsin you could say was due to looking ahead to ohio state, whcih a lot have teams have done, its not like teh rose bowl is the championship game, so i see it fit them being there

there are so many meaningless bowl games anymore that illinois will get one right along with michigan even if they lose to ohio state.
ya wanna see a real joke of a bowl game catch the emerald nut bowl in san francisco...they have both teams on the same sideline cuz the sponsors are so greedy they couldnt move it to a stadium that could coduct a proper football game.

If Michigan loses to Ohio State, they should not be in a January Bowl game. But they will anyway, because they are Michigan.
