wasn't he a brilliant man?
it is said that he was ambidexterous (able to use both hands).
And that he was a painter, sculptor, inventor, anatomist, engineer, musician and some thing like a doctor.
And that he invented scissors.

You learn nothing if people simply agree with you.

Yes, Da Vinci was brilliant. He was also extremely fortunate to be born in an age and place where he could demonstrate that brilliance instead of being executed for heresy. You didn't mention that he was also a diplomat. It's impossible for a man of such brillance to exercise his talents to that degree without knowing exactly who to kowtow to. He also recruited talented assistants to take some of the burden off himself.

Things you can also say about Da Vinci is he was not an alcoholic, he believed in hard work, and he did not surround himself with noise and entertainments. We know very little about his sexual life because he was too busy to have much of one....

We would know a lot more about Len Vincent if the bigoted Catholic Church had not destroyed most of his notebooks in their endeavours to keep people ignorant and dependent on them. He was ambidexterous, he often wrote in mirror writing. He was a Genius, the most brilliant man that ever lived. It 'Is not said' it is true. Among other things he invented the four jaw chuck and the girder bridge, plus other machines such as the one for making files. What we have is only a fraction of what he wrote, what else was burnt by the church we will never know. As to him being a homosexual, what pervert thought that smear up?

He was certainly a bit of a smartarse, however if you really think it necessary to explain what ambidextrous means, your perceived audience has probably never heard of him.

Cross bladed scissors were invented by the Romans around 100 AD. Scissors as a concept were from Ancient Egypt about 1500 BC. Both long before Da Vinci was born.

I used to teach double entry book-keeping - Leonardo Da Vinci developed this system. He was a fascinating man - unfortunately born in the wrong century, because I would like to have met him!

I like him. I also like the fact that his drawing of the Last Supper brings about a lot of controversy into religion.
