right now its home improvement. i live in one of five townhomes and mine is going to be the nicest cause i have taken the time to plan value adding improvements that make living here more fun, convenient, more clutter free, etc.

To be honest, I'm not a competitive person. I know that no matter how good I am, there's someone out there who is better.
I guess if there is one area in which I even think of competing, it's creative writing. Many times I've read a story or a novel, and I think, " I can write better than that," or "My writing is as good as his/hers."
I recognize the difference when I read the work of someone who leaves me behind, however. I am realistic in my self-evaluation and assessment of my own ability. Reading the work of a superior writer serves a useful purpose, however. It spurs me on to try harder, and gives me ideas to think about and to follow if I can. I am inspired to improve my craft.
I think that is true of anything - writing, art, sports, business, etc. We can always learn from others and strive to be better because we've learned something new. We can draw inspiration from others to keep trying, to do our very best, and to hang in there and never give up.

I love playin laserquest, I'm pregnant now so I can't really do it. But I love playing it and I've been known to get a little competitive.
