Ok... 4 is the right amount. If you chose 5 then I don't know how you passed school. A quarter is 25 cents. 25 plus 25 equals 50, add 50 cents to it again and you have 100 cents which makes up a dollar. I don't know what is in people's heads when they say 5. 5 would be a dollar twenty five.

Assuming you might not be American and this is an honest question..........
A dollar is 100 cents. A quarter is 25 cents. So it takes 4 US quarters to make one US dollar.

It is illegal to make currency-only the U.S, Treasury can do that so the answer is a dollar cannot be made from quarters.

4 Quarters = 1 dollar
10 dimes = 1 dollar
20 nickels = 1 dollar
and guess what
