If you are proud of it, then you aren't from the wrong side of the tracks. You are from YOUR side of the tracks.

No such thing as the "wrong side of the tracks". Just don't be in the middle of the tracks.

The wrong side of the tracks does not exist in the UK, the closest thing we have to it is Essex.

Me too. I am living in the house my grandfather built to raise 7 kids(My Mother was one). It is definitely in the poor section, but it has rich memories to me.

no, I don't think so, but I think it is interesting that metaphor still has meaning today. I saw it in action in Waco this summer. I wonder when it will fade away.
