Hypothetical questions are not really true questions in the sense that they are seeking a true answer. What is the meaning of life? for example is one such.
However there is a question I asked my teachers at Grammar School over 40 years ago and which no-one has ever been able to answer.
Why does an electric current flow?
Now I know 'how' it flows, from positive to negative, and the teachers told me what it does but, ultimately, they had to agree that they didn't know 'why' it works.

The question... "If it can be cold as hell and hot as hell, is hell cold or hot?" I really dont think there is an answer to that question.
