Yes, being truthfull to yourself is very important. If you can admit you are wrong when you are wrong only makes you a stronger person. It also wins the respect of those you admit to. They know you are humble, human, and like them, make mistakes. When you admit it, it makes the world a better place. To not admit it is just lying to yourself and others and that can be a nightmare. I must say that sometimes it takes courage to back away from a position & admit that I screwed up but to not do it is the sign of a lack of respect for the other person as well as myself.

Yes, and I always tell on myself too. I can't help it. I think it's because I'd rather just come out and admit it instead of looking like a fool when someone else calls me out on it.

Yes, all the time. Admitting you are wrong and offering a sincere apology shows you are a person of character, it doesn't detract from your worth.
