why dont you call the hospital if your that concerned and see if they can give you any info, maybe they wont unless your family but it's worth a try, explain that you saw the fall and that you are concerned about the patient.

Hi Alexandra
If you have the presence of mind to sit at your PC and type this question then you are not in shock.
You have witnessed something horrible and you feel the need to get it off your chest - that's normal.
Perhaps you should do a First Aid Course so if anything ever happens in the future you can help.

Sit down, breathe slowly and yes, it is shock... your body was flushed with adreneline and it turns sour in the system if you don't use it up. Speak to someone to let them know how you are feeling so they can keep an eye on you , you could faint andd hurt yourself as well.
Can't tell what happened, hopefully it's a simple bone break rather than a spinal injury or serious head injury.
It goes to show that simple precautions are always worth it, as safety line and headgear would have let him walk away from that.

They've probably suffered a neurological and possibly spinal injury. You've witnessed a shocking event but it's unlikely you are in shock. I wouldn't however drive or operate machinery just to be on the safe side. Keep warm and try to talk to someone to help you make sense of what you saw.

What I think has happened to them is they've been taken to hospital for further investigation/treatment. So they're in the best hands.
Relax - nothing further you can do. Upsetting, I know, but you're unlikely to be in shock as medically defined.
Being practical, how about you attend a first-aid course so that you can help, should something like it happen again?

no ,your not in shock, your body usually goes into shock when you have severely injured your body and your bodys normal actions are abnormal you are just amazed and scared as to what has just happened. but if your breathing or pulse fells weak and you feel faintish then you should seek medical attention asap. as for now sit down, relax, and breath in through your nostrils out through your mouth. chances are that the victim is in a stable position and it is not anything serious.

You're startled and perhaps upset, but you're not in shock if you can type a question.
