I don't ever give anyone a thumbs down,I may not agree with a answer and I may post a comment to it. I don't think a person asking the question should be able to give a thumbs down.

I think that's great!! Now I can
tell them what I think of them
to their face...rather than
going thru the surveillance
channels of Homeland Security.
Does anyone know what it's
really like in Federal Prison?

Of course they do, with millions of people on the internet in China, myself included when I am there. All that bull about china not allowing their citizens access to the internet, or shutting down the phone service on the anniversary of tianimen square and how its a police state and if you sneeze you could get thrown in jail is just that, bull.
Half the time in China you wouldnt know you werent in Vancouver BC or some other place with a large Asian population, except some of the vehicles are different and more people ride bicycles.
It isnt a country where the police or anyone watches your every move - the cold war and Mao was a long long time ago.
For the sake of argument - what would the USA do with someone who was operating inside their borders and plotting to overthrow the government and trying to raise money and sympathy?
He was warned many time to stop his activities and chose not to. I imagine a man in his position lived a pretty good life in China, I have lived there for 2 1/2 years and in my opinion he wanted to become famous and chose this way of doing it.
Shi Tao, a Chinese journalist, was on Saturday sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment for being found guilty of illegally providing top state secrets to overseas organizations. The ruling was handed down by the Intermediate People's Court of Changsha City, capital of central China's Hunan Province, at the first trial. Shi, 37, who was employed by the Contemporary Business News published in Changsha, from Feb. 11, 2004 to April 22, 2004, was also deprived of his political rights for two years, court source said.

Not trying to be a smart *** here or anything, but if you or anybody will look at the very bottom of YA, you will see who all has access to YA. All the flags are there as well. So yes I did know, just didn't think anything about it. I didn't know about the other, Shi Tao, but then again, I don't know who that is, sorry.

I knew the Chinese authorities scrutinize all web traffic in and out of China, but I would not have guessed they also have access to Yahoo answers.
I'm personally not bothered at all that some Chinese guy (or gal) is reading my stuff .... but what a waste of money and resources this must be. I pray they come to their senses and direct this money and effort to improving the lot of their people in ther poor provinces.

Yes, I know other countries have access to Y/A and you can click on the flags at the bottom to see questions/answers there in that language. Even people who have not joined can look at this site, they just can't ask or answer.
