after having watched my live-in gf of 4yrs who's 46 go thru this just lately i can answer your question, i believe.

its kinda what kim t called it as it has to do with a good explaination of being able 2 leave your troubles and worries behind and start over again.

over 4yrs i gave my ex gf almost $45,000 in help because i believed her when she said we would b married. when she left she said she didn't think i'd ever b able 2 help her 2 become financially stable, but her boss can and she walked out. she walked away from responsibility, committment, family, but 2 her it didn't matter. to anyone who uses the excuse that its mid-life crisis doesn't care about who it hurts, they are just looking out 4 the top three on their list: me, myself and I. now since she has been divorced twice already after saying they couldn't make her financially stable, was this really mid-life crisis or just another excuse. lets ponder...ok done.

i'll b truthfully honest with you, i can't afford 2 have a mid-life crisis so i'm not gonna do it. i'm like archie bunker in the episode where edith had come 2 the "change of life" and archie gave her 5 min 2 change...i don't need 5min and neither does anyone else...they just need 2 take a good stiff swig of whiskey, pull their head outta their perverbial azz and go back 2 work on their relationships instead of using excuses.

so what really is mid-life crisis...its just another excuse 2 walk away from a committed relationship...period.

When you reach a certain age, you realize more of life if behind you rather than ahead of you. The body also is not keeping up with your mind. Some people do goofy things rather than accept life and accept it is finite. Don't fear death, it is inevitable. Live this life fully. Sometimes people will label living fully as a midlife crisis if you don't conform to their own ageist beliefs.

a mid life crisis is when you feel old. maybe when you hit around your 40's and begin to look back at your life and what you've acomplished. you'd probably be asking yourself some of the common questions like

"am i married?"
"have i even gotten laid?" (40 year old virgin lol)
"do i have kids?"
"hows my job doing?"
"how long till i die?"
"do i have bad habbits i can get rid of?"

tons of stuff, MLC's are just times where we all relflect a bit on ourselves

Well, it has to do with the married life. Having married for atleast for 4-6 years one feels its boring life and feels sex is a routine affair and feel disinterested. one starts to feel aged.

I think it's a convenient excuse for behaving badly. Divorcing after 31 years, he cheated, another crisis in his life, please!!
