You need to be taking either tylenol or ibuprofen so your chest and throat don't hurt when you cough. Salt water gargles (one teaspoon salt in one glass warm water - gargle and spit out - can do this as often as you want) will also help. Continue with lots of fluids, rest as much as possible. Sometimes a cough med can help too.

Sounds like you could be coming down with the flu or something similar. Try some vitamin c (helps prevent colds) and make sure you drinks plenty of fluids that will hydrate you (gatorade, water, stuff like that, not coffee though), make sure you rest. Also, if the cough is hurting you, it probablly wouldn't hurt to get some cough drops or some cough medicine to help with that. Take care and I hope you get better soon.

Take some over the counter pain meds like Tylenol 500mg or 2 Tylenol 325 mg , that should take care of the feverish feeling and sore throat , also get some over the counter throat lozenges and spray and make sure that they have some numbing ingredients in them for immediate relief of the soreness and rest by not talking and talking or screaming or not doing anything that will put a strain on your throat .

You have an upper respiratory so yes drink fluids and lots of chicken soup or broth. For the cough use cough medicine if the cough is bother some and pick up some mucinex to help get that phlegm out of your chest. For the aches and pains use ibuprofen or naproxen. There is nothing more you can do but wait it out.

See the doctor because I too was having all these symptoms and I waited and waited by trying to treat it myself with over the counter remedies and it turned out that I had a chest infection that needed antibiotics, and a 2nd lot after that due to me having prolonged going to get my chest listened to sooner.
The doctor told me that the aches, feeling hot etc.. was my bodies way of telling me there was an infection present, more so if you have a very bad cough that hurts when you cough.

Cough is spelled like that, first of all.
Drink LOTS of fluids. You probably have strep or something like that. Take some tylenol for the headache and fever and some TheraFlu for the throat. I know they have some TheraFlu for throats, but I can't remember the exact name.
Good luck and I hope you get better! ^_^

Take vitamin C and vitamin E. Those two combined help strengthen your immune system. Don't eat dairy (they'll make the cough worse). And don't eat junk food. Just rest, take the vitamins, eat healthy, drink lots of water. Oh, and get some cough syrup or something like that. And maybe one of those steamer things you fill with water and breathe near....
