Dante would be more fun. His unrequited love for Beatrice, his involvement in Florentine politics, his exile from Florence, and his book THE DIVINE COMEDY which lists all sorts of names of people during his time who did not quite live up to his expectations.
More people have read either all of the DIVINE COMEDY or part of it than have read Aquinas.

I think Aquinas accomplished a lot more in his life. He's a saint. Dante wrote a book.
