my english teacher told us about his friend that majored in psychology in college & how he would walk into the classroom & stare at the ceiling until the whole class was saring at the ceiling to. is there a specfic name for this?

Mimicing. Seriously. That's what it is called. People mimic others.

Curiosity.

You see someone fixated on something on the ceiling and so you assume it's something really interesting, and so everyone else starts looking for the thing that the first person is looking at.
