A promise is a promise. If I make a promise to someone I love, I will follow through with it 110%.
I promised my girlfriend that she's the only one for me - no exceptions - and that I will remain forever loyal to her. It's been nearly two and a half years since I last saw my girlfriend in person (though we've kept in contact with each other), and you have yet to see me even flirting with another woman. I guess it's just one of those things, you know?

anyone claiming that they will be together forever are delusional. 3/4 of all marriages in the united states end in divorce and a lot of times-nasty ones. also even if you remain married eventually you or your partner will die leaving the other to be alone for atleast some stretch of time, voiding the "together forever" idea. coming from a christian perspective (no offense to those of other religions, but i can only speak for my own & wouldnt presume to speak for the religions of others)-if you want to be together forever you will need to be god fearing jesus loving christians that get lucky enough to die together in a car wreck at the exact same moment and be lucky enough for both parties to make it into the christian idea of heaven. either way-so if you say together forever and both of you intend to keep it that way, youve got a lot of work and planning, and you better hope ur lucky enough to die at the same moment as your partner.
good luck with that.

i could in no way make that promise. i ought to promise loyalty for as long as we the two stay, yet issues exchange, if she have been to be disloyal to me, that should mean the loyalty is ended and it is not me breaking a promise.

If I said that I would keep my promise unless they wanted out.
However it must be said by me and not assumed by the other party.
I hate it when someone assums you are together just because you've been hanging with them.
Yuck how needy can you get.

like my momma always said, never make a promise you don't intend to carry out, I value my momma's input and advise. So I can honestly say and mean it from my heart that when I make a promise I keep it

Many people say that because they are in love at the moment. Once you become comfortable around that person your feelings might change. It's human nature, unfortunately we become bored with things over time (people included).

Half think they mean it at the time. Half know they don't mean it and are just lying to get noogie. Actions speak louder than words. Don't believe the words.
