so i was playin basketball and i jumped up for a lay up and i kind of turned in the air, but when i landed i felt and heard my right knee pop and it gave out from under me and i couldnt walk on it for awhile. today is the next day and it still hurts very much to walk on it and it feels like somethin is out of place. and i can barely bend it back, not even a 90 degree angle without it hurting really bad. does anyone know wut happened? im afraid to go to the doctor cuz they might say i cant play for awhile.

It sounds like you tore a ligament in your knee. Three things that would suggest this type of injury:
1) It happened after you jumped and landed wrong
2) You heard your knee pop
3) It feels like something is out of place (ligaments attach bones and hold everything in place in your joints)

You should go to the doctor and get it checked out.

Hopefully, you are taking some pain medication (tylenol or ibuprofen) for the discomfort and putting ice on it intermittently. Also, you need to not play basketball anymore until you find out what is wrong. Only a physician exam can tell whether you have done something serious to your knee or not and possibly some x-rays, CT or MRI for the final answer. There are tendons, ligaments and a meniscus that could have been damaged but you can't tell which without a physician exam.

sounds similar to what happened to me i was jumping on a trampoline and i got double jumped and as i came down my knee turned and popped an i knew instantly something was wrong. i went to the doctor and they said nothing was wrong but i kept falling and falling i went to another doctor (after falling all summer) and it turns out i had severe ligament damage and my knee cap had dislocated. u might have done the same thing. i had surgery two weeks ago on it. go to the doctor and have x rays done. but whatever u do if they tell u nothing is wrong dont take that. dont take no for an answer or u will end up like me. it took a different angle of xrays for my doctors to figure it out. so dont take no for an answer. and go to the doctor. u might have done what i did

You have either torn one of the inner ligaments holding your knee joint together or your knee cap may have come loose during the jumping and landing. Either way there will be pain on bending. Try resting the knee, use cold compress, use a knee guard and mild pain killer. If it does not improve you will have have to see a doctor

uhmm i would say you should probably go to the doctor, because if you leave it alone for a while it could probably get worse, and if you just let it heal, it will heal wrong and it could cause problems in the future, just go to the doctor and get an x-ray. hope you feel better!
