I moved here from Ohio a year ago. You will love the winter here. Not cold like back home and no snow. The traffic is the worse. The drivers take speed limits and traffic signals as suggestions.

The people here are not sociable. Not unfriendly just everyone keeps to themselves. The time difference is difficult to adjust to at first. Calling family back home at one in the morning even though it's ten here does not go will with them.

Shopping is good here. Most stores are open 24/7. Housing is expensive but it is dropping fast.

Soon you will learn that the Strip is a no no for locals. You will go only when you have to go. This will be your choice. You will surprise yourself when this happens.

Good luck with the move.

It's going to be culture shock for a while. Don't get overwhelmed by the lights and action and all there is to do there. It will seem like a ton of fun to start with...just make sure you don't overdo it. People in Las Vegas are night but it's definitely different from the midwest...people are more aggressive and not nearly as laid back. (I just moved from the West Coast to Indy)

The weather will probably be more of an adjustment than anything. Home is wherever you make it. If you make yourself enjoy life there, you'll love it. Just stock up on the sunscreen! Good luck!

Have fun in the summer. We get to be around 110 degrees.
Also our pace of life is very different from the Midwest. We go alot faster.
Another thing to remember if you have visited Vegas in the past, that is nothing like living here.
