I am stumped i am not getting the answer anywhere; an overview will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

a short description,

linux followes a hierarchial aproach so every thing is properly located, so is the case with I/O devices,

all I/O devices are located at /dev directory.

example /dev/ttyS0 is your serial port 1
