Hi!
My Yule is very similar to xmas as well...I grew up Christian and my whole family celebrates. We participate still in the gift giving and merriment. But as far as me, my man, and our daughter, we make a Yule Log every year to burn candles on, and burn last years log in a fire on Yule. We have a tree that's decorated too. (no tinsel or baby Jesus's - which is beautiful but not my belief) We bake breads, cookies, and all sorts of goodies for the season. Hot spiced cider and such. It is a family time for love, blessings, and celebration.
Hope yours is a great one!

You'd never be able to tell them apart from Christmas ones!
On the day after Thanksgiving, my neighborhood goes bonkers with lights, so every evening from then til the New Year we take the kids for a walk around to see it all.
We put up and decorate a tree; make a gingerbread house; hang stockings; bake cookies; mull wine; have a fire. On Christmas eve we visit all the family in town to exchange gifts. Christmas morning the kids get treats in their stockings. I make sweet rolls and then a huge dinner for the family.
It's all about celebrating light in the darkness, hope, giving, caring, family, community.

A fire on Yule night (usually Dec 20 or 21). Druids usually celebrate the return of the Holly King, and the descent of the Oak King. Lots of warm gifts such as mittens sweaters scarves to be given to everybody. Wine drinking and homemade baked goods on Mother Night (usually falls on Dec 31). Depending on the tradition on your Grove or Coven, there are different religious songs/prayers/chantings.

well, being that christmas was originally a pagan tradition, i figure they still do the whole decorating tree thing, along with giving presents to each other, pretty much same as the christians, only without the going to church or anything religious
