Once you get health insured, it's free dope for life and legal too. Doing 70 in a 7,000 lb SUV, with a cell phone in one hand and can of Bud in the other, blasted on pills; what can possibly go wrong, I got these from a doctor?

People are so afraid that when their children run a fever it could lead to something more serious. So better to be safe than sorry which is good in itself, they seek medical help. Rather than do a throat culture for an upper respiratory infection to find if they have a viral or bacterial infection, most doctors prescribe antibiotics unnecessarily. The same can be said of adults too, when all they needed was better nutrition and vitamin therapy. There are so many viruses today that can weaken a person's resistance and can lead to bacterial invasion, as there are carcinogens and pollutants that we are exposed to and can't be avoided, that we need to seek the help of doctors who prescribe medication. The best way to build up the immune system is to eat healthier and avoid habits that weaken it. Many causes such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and cancer can be prevented by changing ones habits. Because there are so many unhealthy adults today there is the need for certain medications to relieve and alleviate symptoms. People can live more productive lives and live longer as a result.
And Yes I do agree that many doctors are not treating the cure by helping their patients to live healthier and so in place give out medication which promotes their practice and that of big pharmacy and drug companies. I also believe that doctors and drugs are necessary in many cases and are given with the sincere desire to help others. Drug costs can be outrageous where many cannot obtain them without paying huge costs themselves. The babyboomers are getting up there so expect more drug stores to be opened. It's big business and feeds the wealth of the top corporations.

Who cares? The main thing is our drug companiespump out only what the people will buy. The problem isn't Americans having choices, it's other countries being too poor to have drug companies. Socialism is a cancer....it eradicates incentives, uses coercive government, restricts civil liberties........and the list could go on forever..........
GIVE FREEDOM...........not big government! If people want to use a medication such as weed to relieve tylenol pressure on the liver DON'T throw them in jail or make them have to buy it from the dangeruous black market! If they want to buy something that relieves heartburn don't stand in their way. Quit being ignorant that the war on drugs is winning. We are losing, kids have drugs and they use them everyday. Quit being naive and let the peaceful people exchange voluntarily for a win-win situation. Force will never bring about two goods!

I think we've become a society living in fear, and that fear is fostered by the drug companies, putting more and more vague commercials about drugs on TV. I have no clue what most of them do - does Cialis actually make me want to sit with my spouse in matching bathtubs out in public somewhere? (Now I do actually know what Cialis is for, but...that's what they show!)

We are also an increasingly unhappy with ourselves society - which is why all the ads for drugs, weight loss, deoderants, etc are so popular and effective.

Personally, I'd like to see them remove the drug commercials fromt he air as offensive. After all, you no longer see douche commericals and rarely see a tampon commercial - since the offended people. Drug commercials offend me and should go.

God yes! I think we are. I work in the healthcare industry and give out thousands of pills a week to patients and I HATE IT. I've been searching for a new job!

Some pills do great good and some in my opinion do great harm.
A simple antibiotic could stop a person from dying so it's not all bad. But when your taking 20 pills a day, hello!?!?!?!? get a life.

I would say Yes.............I know I'm tired of the advertisements what wrong with a good diet and exercise, and trying to take a few vitimins to cure what ever is bothering someone. I think medical technology may have caught up, and we have a pill for everything.

Certainly seems that way. We pop pills for everything...
Slight headache? POP A PILL!
Feet a little tired from walking? POP A PILL!
Low attention span? POP A PILL!
Depressed? Confused? POP A PILL!
Stuffy nose? Feeling a bit congested? POP A PILL!
Do you wash your hands fifty times a day? Well, HOLY COW, you must have obsessive compulsive disorder. You had better POP SOME MORE PILLS!

3. Percocet

4. Oxycontin

Same doctor, giving her all these meds. Now, keep in mind that he didn't change her prescription...she's on all 4 !!!!

She can just call him and say, "I'm not sleeping well" and he'll phone in a STRONGER drug to the pharmacy.

Yet, when I'm really sick....I have to come in for a thorough exam just to get some cough syrup.

Now, lets look at these drugs.
Each one of these drugs carry a minimum of 5 side effects.
Look at how many potential side effects she has going on in her body.

She's now a drug addict. I know it, my dad knows it and my brother as well.

We've started attended Narcotics Anonymous meetings to help us to not enable her.

It's a long road ahead.

The shame of the United States is that we have the highest infant mortality rate in the world. This does not include abortions. I am talking about children who are born and do not survive.

more of our infants die than any other country in this world. Does that tell you anything.
