Dear Scuba,
There is a lot of information for me to fully answer this question, and not enough space to do so. I hope at least this will help:

If the brain is bruised or injured it can be life-threatening. Normally the skull protects the brain from damage through its hard unyieldingness.

well u said it is is the skull so if u fall or hit ur head then it wont damage ur brain. it isnt that hard to figure out/ google it for more info
