1) the average age group during summer months is 17 (excluding the political section)
2) very few people take this forum seriously, at least i don't, and by many q&a's i think it is self evident
3) i am doing 4 things at once right now, so Y!A is a time killing addiction, and is 4 many
4) sometimes u think something is fun or funny to say or ask; sometimes u feel like causing trouble (known as trolls); sometimes a question speaks to u as if it is begging for an answer; sometimes u are killing time; sometimes u are addicted to getting useless points for its own sake
5) grammar and spelling is considered "old school" and mostly reflects an avatars older age, and/or insecurities, as the new code is: idk, lol, fuathhurio, etc. with lower case spellings
[Believe or not, I have been published and when I write professionally -- well that's another time and place. The opinion of someone on the Internet, who does not know me, is irrelevant.]
6) u cant judge a book by its avatar, as some people fake and pose to create reactions from other avatar
7) ur desire to create a real response, with proper grammar and punctuation is admirable, but i think it wasted on the wrong crowd
8) old america does not understand young american in the same way the elvis presley and rock and roll was considered dirty and vulgar in the 60's by the older generation at that time, but that's life
9) young america is actually quite brilliant in many ways, but the older generation does not respect their freedom to be who they want to be, but instead continually inflicts their judgment and ideas when they are not wanted
10) people who sit behind a computer, and are not face-to-face, find it very easy to be flippant, rude or vulgar
11) the bottom line for me is that this is only a website where killing time is fun (on most days) as i am doing something else (multitasking) at the same time

So exactly how are others supposed to know if the person who posts a question already knows the obvious answer. There are some people who are expecting long drawn out answers of some kind and maybe don't realize that the situation only requires a simple obvious answer. Just because you think the answers are obvious doesn't mean that everyone else thinks so as well. As for dumbass answers, sometimes it goes along with dumbass questions and sometimes they come from people who have nothing better to do. Why should any of this bother you?

Because most questions people ask aren't really that helpfull to the ones answering it.
Also, some people type in chatspeak, and if you honestly want to be taken seriously while asking something you should type in a way most people can understand..And if you think some peoples answers are dull, mabey it is because of the way the question was worded? Don't attack the people answering and trying to help, attack the people who don't know how to ask.
This is a waste of a question, if your going to rant find somewhere else to do so.
Thumbsdown this if you like, honestly I could careless.
Your just being immature anyway.

It's the whole "dolt vs. Brainiacs"syndrome. Some people really are that dumb, others are just wanting an honest answer to what others see as a dumb question. As for the flippant and obnoxious will always be with us.You have to learn to ignore them,Then they will go away.

Maybe it is about defensiveness - being stupid to mask a feeling of stupidity - Like class clown.
or being in spoiler mode; I don't want to be deep so I am going to pee on your bonfire!.
I think that hte most defended people are the most vulnerable so I don't feel too badly about people's jibes.
It does affect whether I ask questions though because i can ignore the 'light bantering flippancy' when I see it in other people's answers - I just ignore it, but when I am pulled apart by them it really hurts.
A friend of mine says about people like this who bully him for having mental health difference
"If they really knew how much it hurts they would do it more!"

Actually, I'm rather impressed at the number of people who try to take it very seriously and think through what they are saying. I expect there to be a lot of people who are just kidding around. Who cares? Take the parts that are meaningful.

My only recommendation is that you stop caring. Seriously. If flippant remarks annoy you this much, I suggest you find a new website to pass time.
